First it was Leonardo Dicaprio and now its been revealed that Brad Pitt has also been signed to play lead character in Quentin Tarantino next film.
Sony pictures announced on Wednesday that new film of Tarantino will come out in cinemas on August 9 2019 and will star Dicaprio and Pitt in the lead roles.
The film is titled “Once upon a time in Hollywood” and the acclaimed director describes film as “a story that takes place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood. The two lead characters are Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), former star of a Western TV series, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt). Both are struggling to make it big in Hollywood that they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor…Sharon Tate.”
Both actors had previously worked with Tarantino on successful films. Dicaprio was seen in the western Django Unchained (2012) while Brad pitt was seen in 2009 western Inglorious Bastards. Both the movies were very successful both commercially and Critically.
“I’ve been working on this script for five years, as well as living in Los Angeles County most of my life, including in 1969, when I was seven years old,” Tarantino said Wednesday in a statement. “I’m very excited to tell this story of an L.A. and a Hollywood that don’t exist anymore. And I couldn’t be happier about the dynamic teaming of DiCaprio & Pitt as Rick & Cliff.”
